As part of the Smart Clothing and Wearable Technology team supported by HEFCEW, in collaboration with University of Wales, Cardiff.

Rachel Murphy is undertaking a collaborative research degree with University of Wales, Newport and University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. Her specialisation is in Wearable Technology and Digital/Electronic Jewellery. Rachel holds an MA in Computer Related Design from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Three Dimensional Design from University of Wales, Newport. Her publications include

• Memory Box - Handheld and Ubiquitous Computing Conference, Personal Technologies Journal, 2000 Rachel Murphy and David Frohlich.
• The Inspiration Watch: an augmented shopping device - Ubicomp Conference 2002 Rachel Murphy and Abigail Sellen.
• The future of the mobile Internet: lessons from looking at web use, Appliance Journal - Abigail Sellen and Rachel Murphy.
• How Knowledge workers use the web, Chi Conference 2002 - Abigail Sellen, Rachel Murphy and Kate Shaw.

Her work has been exhibited at East Sussex Archive Office, Lewes, The Light House, Glasgow, the "High Definition" exhibition, Hong Kong & New Designers, London, Rachel also has nine patents pending and two patents granted.
